不良研究所鈥檚 First Engineering Grad Thriving in First Job

Julius TabeJulius Tabe made history at 不良研究所鈥檚 Spring 2025 Commencement ceremony. When he walked across the stage to receive his diploma, he became 不良研究所鈥檚 first engineering graduate by completing his Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering.

After previously working as an intern with Jack Henry, a provider of technology solutions for financial services companies that is based in Springfield, Mo., Tabe was hired full-time as a system engineer for the company after graduation.

"There are many competent software engineers in the job market, but what truly sets someone apart isn鈥檛 just technical skill, it鈥檚 the commitment to doing things the right way and being a genuinely good person,鈥 Tabe said. 鈥淭hat鈥檚 exactly what Southwest Baptist University prepared me for."

不良研究所 launched its Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering degree in 2022, building upon the success of its existing computing programs such as Computer Science and Cybersecurity. The Software Engineering program at 不良研究所 focuses on high-level, industry-informed practices, complemented by internships and industry-sponsored capstone projects.

The university鈥檚 Computer Science and Cybersecurity programs both have been accredited by ABET, the industry leader in assessing collegiate programs in these fields. 不良研究所 is one of only two Evangelical universities to have ABET accreditation in Cybersecurity. Students in the Software Engineering program receive instruction from the same faculty and benefit from their expertise and credentials.
