Physical Therapy Welcomes Two New Faculty

DPT Facultyо has welcomed two additions to its esteemed Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) faculty – Dr. Sarah Menary and Dr. Brant Bess.

Dr. Menary comes to о after helping to lead the launch of Webster University’s DPT program, as well as more than a decade of clinical experience. She is a graduate of Missouri State University’s DPT program and, in addition to being a licensed physical therapist, she is a certified clinical instructor of physical therapy education.

We are excited to have Dr. Menary on our faculty,” said Dr. Terry Cox, director of ’s program. “She is already making great connections with the faculty and students and we look forward to her insights on how to make the program better.’

Dr. Bess is a 2021 graduate of ’s DPT program and previously treated patients at Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) in Bolivar in outpatient, acute care, and long-term care. He is also a licensed physical therapist and a certified clinical instructor.

“Dr. Bess has already brought some innovation to his teaching and we look forward to the additions he will make to the program,” said Dr. Cox.

Both faculty join the program as it transitions to a new location on ’s Springfield Campus. The campus has been undergoing a renovation throughout the summer to expand classroom and lab space and other improvements that will benefit both the DPT program and the other health professions programs that are based there – nursing, radiography, and health sciences.

’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program is a three-year program, with two years of classroom instruction followed by a year of clinical rotations. It can admit up to 80 students in each cohort, with scholarships available to students who achieve specific academic standards.
